The Classic Cedar Adirondack Chair

For over one hundred years Americans have been using the chairs invented by Thomas Lee in the resort town of Westport, New York. The classic cedar Adirondack chair has changed very little over the years. The wide, rugged design, meant for the hilly climate of the Adirondack Mountains, is perfect for stable seating in any outdoor setting. The design is also incredibly comfortable, particularly when combined with an ottoman. AdirondackChairInc still uses the basic design although we have made a few improvements to some models.

One of the first changes ever made to Thomas Lee's original design was making a rocking version. We carry rockers in each of our signature lines and for kids as well. We also offer sturdy reclining Adirondack chairs that allow you to convert your chair into a lounger, particularly when combined with an ottoman. One of our favorite improvements we have made is the addition of a love seat style. This comfortable model is almost like a couch for your yard. Of course, many still prefer the original cedar Adirondack chair. We make the classic style in each of our four signature lines, each with a distinctive back design.
