The History of Adirondacks Chairs
For over a century, people have been using comfortable chairs invented by Thomas Lee in 1903 in Westport, New York. Known as Adirondacks chairs in the United States and as Muskoka chairs in Canada, they take their name from the resort regions of the two countries where they first gained popularity. Today, the design of AdirondackChairInc's painted Adirondack chair is little changed from Lee's original, although modern materials, such as kiln dried cedar, have replaced the natural hemlock and local woods found in the first versions. We also offer four signature lines, each with a distinctive back design.
Attractive Painted Adirondack Chair Styles
At AdirondackChairInc we offer four lines (Westport, Captiva, Sanibel and Marina) in four colors (natural, white, black and classic red). We are not limited to basic Adirondacks chairs, either. We offer several styles and products including:
- Rockers in all lines
- Love seats
- Classic ottomans
- Several styles of side tables
- Kids' chairs in all mines
- Kids' rockers
- Sets with two chairs, side table and optional ottoman
With Adirondack chairs for kids, love seats and more, you can easily outfit your patio, yard or poolside deck in a way that best fits your family's lifestyle. AdirondackChairInc pieces are quality models that will last for years. Our painted Adirondack chair design incorporated all weather paint and rust resistant hardware to reinforce the natural strengths of the kiln dried cedar. Your lawn chair set will handle the outdoors better than most plastic or aluminum items.
Adirondack Chairs for Kids
Most kids' seats are simply small versions of adult chairs. The Adirondack chairs for kids from AdirondackChairInc are just that; they are smaller versions that will match your regular lawn furniture. However, this is because the original design is so stable and rugged it does not need any improvements or adjustments to comfortably and safely seat children. Browse our collection and you will find an AdirondackChairInc seat for everyone in the family.
